A PASSION FOR VISUAL NARRATIVE

For several years SDCT Productions has woven or uncovered a wide range of stories as told through our lenses and editing bay. The stories have explored difficult topics such as lost relationships, health anxiety, and the town that banded together to rise against systemic rape culture.

As long as there are important stories to be told and topics to be explored, we will be telling them with passion and integrity.

BORN FROM A LOVE OF FILM

Long before the massive rebirth of podcasting, SDCT was established by Jeff Richards and Travis Stephens as a podcast* featuring people in the film industry who had the drive to produce work inspired by a love of the craft.

We heard from guests time and time again that if you want to make a project such as a film happen then DO IT. Plan and execute.

So we did it. We shot Christ Complex. Calling our budget “shoestring” would be generous. We purchased two of these for $99 each in 2011:

At the time, this was epic. We had HD potential. We cast then recast the film, shot it with some incredible talent, and before we knew it Christ Complex was done.

We did it. We made a movie. We were no longer podcasters, we were producers.

* during this time, a lovely podcast listener did not know one day she would marry the host, Jeff, and herself be an integral piece of SDCT Productions!

TAKING AIM AT THE STARS

SDCT Productions has grown into a small collective of producers, content developers, and Jeffrey Scott Richards – the head and nexus of SDCT Productions.

Through the journey we have produced everything from a feature film, short films, documentaries, and client work including a music video
